Irma Noyola Becerra

September 25, 1946 — December 1, 2025

Sugar Land

Irma Noyola Becerra departed this life on December 1, 2025. Irma was born September 25, 1946, in McAllen, TX, to Jesus and Carmen Noyola. She was the first of nine children. In 1949 Irma and her family moved to Sugar Land, TX. Growing up Irma enjoyed spending her summers visiting family in Mexico.

Irma graduated from Dulles High School in 1965, and shortly after earned her license in cosmetology. After just seven years as a stylist Irma opened her own salon in 1972, where she worked alongside her sister Gloria. Irma continued her career as a stylist for over 40 years.

Irma married Jose “Joe” Becerra of Rosenberg, TX on April 17, 1966. Married for 59 years, they were each other's lifelong companions. Irma and Joe were later blessed to raise two boys in the beloved home they built in rural Richmond. TX.

When not spending time with her family, Irma had a passion for smocking and specialized in shadow work. In 1990 Irma was a charter member of the Sugar Land Chapter of the Midnight Oil Smockers. Her family was blessed with the beautiful works of art she made, among them cherished christening gowns and wedding dresses.

Irma was a nurturer. She lost her father at age 13 and helped her mother care for her younger siblings. She worked as a Teachers Aid at Martin Elementary for 10 years. She loved being with the kindergarteners and would always go out of her way to help students.

She was known for being the best grandma anyone could ask for and will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesus Noyola Sr., and Carmen Noyola Rodriguez, and by her brothers Dionicio “Donny” Noyola, and Jesus “Jesse” Noyola Jr.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, the Honorable Judge Christian Becerra (Lacy) and Dr. William Troy Rodriguez D.D.S. (Leticia), and her five grandchildren; her sisters Yolanda Noyola, Gloria Gandy (Travis), Celia Iwinski (Tom), Sandra Smith, and Abigail Huggins (Dennis); her many nieces and nephews, and friends.

Rosary will be prayed at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 514 Carlisle Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471 on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Mass will begin at 10:30 AM. Reception to follow in the Family Life Center.
