John Dewitt “J.D.” Gray

John Dewitt “J.D.” Gray, 100, of Stafford, TX, was born on April 5, 1919 in Lawton, OK, left this life to be with the “Lord” on September 6, 2019.

J.D. moved to Fort Bend County in 1948, where he would raise his family.  He was a rice farmer, and later built a successful construction business.  J.D. served in the United States Army during World War II, was a trustee on the FBISD school board in the 1970’s, among many other accomplishments.

  A Visitation will be held at Creekside Christian Fellowship, 16628 TX-36, Needville, TX 77461 on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 from 11:30am to 1pm with a Religious service being held at 1pm.

J.D. is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Gray and Minnie Cloyd; brothers, William Gray, Lester Gray, Glen Gray and Raymond Gray.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Jan Gray; son, Jimmy Gray and wife Sally; daughters, Johnnie Clifton, Judy Odell and husband Ronnie, Jane Gray, Jody Johnston and husband Michael; step-children, Carol Myers and husband John, Donna Daniel and husband Emmett; sister, Peggy Heatherly; along with eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.

J.D. was a Loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, Friend, Uncle and a “Paw Paw” to many people.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
