Johnny C. Alaniz

Johnny C. Alaniz, 84, of Richmond, Texas, was born September 3, 1941. He peacefully passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family at home. His presence will be deeply missed. Johnny was the mentor for his entire family. He loved his family and left cherished memories and a long legacy. He will forever live in their hearts.

A viewing will be held on Mon, March 16, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m., in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 410 Clay Street, Richmond, TX. 77469.

Rite of committal will follow in San Gabriel Annex Cemetery, Beasley, Texas.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Alaniz and Leonora Alaniz; his brother, Jose Alaniz Jr.; his sisters, Rosie Alaniz and Antonia Abrego-Alanis; his stepmother, Cruz Alaniz.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 64 years, Rosaria “Rosie” Alaniz; his children, Christine Saenz and husband Steven Saenz, Ray Alaniz and wife Nora Alaniz, Cynthia Garcia and husband Pablo Garcia, Gilbert Alaniz and wife Mary Alaniz, Veronica Fernandez and husband Frank Fernandez, John Alaniz and wife Lucy Alaniz, Jessica Alaniz-Evans and husband Robert Evans; his brother, Cruz Alanis; stepbrothers, Eric Alaniz; his stepsisters, Janie Shutter, Minnie Tucker and Anita Welch; 21 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.
