Maria Anita Carrillo, was born on March 11, 1921, went to be with her “Lord & Loved Ones” on October 12, 2021, at the age of 100.

 

A viewing will be held on Fri., October 15, 2021,at 8:30am at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 410 Clay St., Richmond, Texas, 77471, followed by a funeral mass beginning at 9:00am.

 

Rite of committal will be following in Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, in Rosenberg, Texas.

 

Mrs. Carrillo was a lifetime member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church where she was active with the Guadalupana Society and a Eucharistic Minister.

 

Anita, as she was known by many, was famously known for her beautiful quilting and delicious food, especially her empanadas, which her family friends will be greatly missing as well as her loving presence at all their gatherings. She generously donated many quilts to the church bazaar.

 

She taught herself and her siblings the art of reading and writing in both Spanish and Englishwith a limited education.

 

Her sole dedication was to her God and her familyhowever she did also enjoy gathering and playing Bingo with her friends at the Fort Bend Senior Citizens.

 

The Carrillo family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Health and Rehab, in Richmond, for their love and wonderful care the last 2 years. And especially for the fabulous 100-year birthday fiesta they hosted in honor of her.

 

Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Celestino Carrillo; son, Celestino Carrillo Jr.; parents, Gasper and Josefa (Lopez) Garza; son-in-law,

Adan Rios Jr.; brothers, Pedro Garza, Bruno Garzaand Tomas Garza; sisters, Dominga Garza and Bruna Gonzales.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Paul Carrillo and wife Rose Mary, Robert Carrilloand wife Alicia; her daughters, Maria Rios, Josie Gracia and husband Joe, Julie Almaraz andhusband Pete; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Carrillo;sister, Josefina Perez; 19 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; along with and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
