Maria "Mary" Guel

Maria “Mary” Guel, 71, passed away from this life on June 12, 2024. Maria was born to Rosendo and Maria de Jesus Uresti on June 15, 1952. 

A viewing will be held on Fri., June 21, 2024, from 5:30pm – 8:00pm at 2520 Bamore Road, Texas 77471, followed by a religious service beginning at 7:00pm. 

She was a member of The Pentecostals of Rosenberg. She loved being with family and friends, being surrounded by loved ones brought joy and laughter to her life.

 Maria retired from the Richmond State School. She had a passion for reading, writing, and studying the bible. She had her own personal library. One of her favorite pastimes was going to Penny Wise secondhand store. That was her retail therapy, and it was not uncommon to run into there, browsing for hidden treasures.

 Maria had an extraordinary gift for connecting with people and extending warm invitations to church. Whether through heartfelt phone calls or thoughtful little gifts from her second-hand store finds, she made everyone feel special. Her kindness and generosity will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.

 Maria was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Connie Hooks.

 She is survived by her husband Henry Guel of 56 years; her daughters, Rose Farmer and husband Scot Farmer, Christine Holt and husband Dr. Karl Holt, Abigail Garza and husband Greg Garza; her son, Michael Guel; grandchildren, Jamie Palmer and husband Mark Palmer, Ashley Chavez and husband Jose Chavez, Jeremy Warren, Meaghan Quinones and husband Michael Quinones, Jared Rivas, Madelyn Garza, Lexi Garza and Greg Garza Jr.; great grandchildren, Ryder Palmer and Jolie Chavez; brothers, Jose Uresti and wife Ramona Uresti, Raul Uresti and wife Lucy Uresti; sisters, Rebecca Carrasco and husband Rosendo Carrasco, and Elizabath Ramirez.
